He said that there is no time for Him to tell them all He was supposed to.
But when the Spirit comes, it will lead them into all truth; as well as remind them about the things He said to them.
2. The fulfillment of the promise of the holy spirit.
We can see the fulfillment of the promise of the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2; when the Holy Spirit came and dwelt on the apostles as tongues of fire.
Those who were standing by were so amazed at how they heard the disciples speaking their own languages.
This amazement gave them the urge to be like the disciples; so they asked what they were going to do in order to be saved.
3. How to receive the Holy Spirit.
In Acts 2 verses 38 and 39, the people inquire from Peter what they must do in order to be saved; and he tells them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus, for the remission of sins; and they will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Probably those who were asking what they must do to be saved did not know that whatever the apostles were able to do was a result of being motivated by the Holy Spirit; whom they just received.
Now we can see what the disciples were able to do or achieve as a result of being led by the Spirit of God.
Therefore, if you want to be led by the Holy Spirit you must repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins.
