In this short sermon, we are going to look at what it means to thank God for everything as written in Ephesians 5:20 .
Bible verse.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, always give thanks for everything to God the Father.
What does it mean to thank God for everything?
To thank God for everything means that even if we are in a good or bad situation, we must always give thanks to God.
The reason we have to thank God for everything is that He is the One in control of whatever happens in our lives.
Thus, we should not always thank God only when things are going well with us, we should also learn how to thank Him when times are bad.
How to thank God for everything.
Most of us have been looking for a way to appreciate God because of the things he keeps doing for us.
And we’ve been told by most of our clergies that we can appreciate God by paying our tithes and offerings, contributing to or even building the Church of God, or buying a present and keeping it in the church.
But in Psalm 24:1, the scripture helps us to understand that the earth and everything in it; including human beings, belongs to God.
And for this reason, there is nothing we can give to God as a gift since he already owns everything on earth.
The only way we can appreciate Him is to always give Him thanks, and as the bible says for everything; whether good or bad.
