In this frequently asked question (FAQ) in the bible, we are going to answer: what is darkness to God according to the bible?
But before we answer this question, let us first and foremost outline the bible verse where we have this question.
Bible verse about what is darkness to God.
“Indeed the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to you.
(Psalm 139:12).
What is darkness to God according to the bible?
According to the bible, as we firmly see above in Psalm 139:12, darkness is like light to God.
What this means is that God does not perceive darkness as night; like we humans do here on earth. Rather, night shines as day, and both the darkness and light are alike to Him.
Is there night and day with God?
In 2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4, the scripture further tells us that in the eyes of God, a thousand years is like one day, and one year like a thousand years.
Now to confirm if this is true, let us look at the logical understanding of the day and night.
Logical understanding of night and day.

We all thought, and every other person will keep on thinking that it is the sun that passes across the earth to help it get sunlight.
Because we often experience where the sun rises and where it usually sets.
But according to science, it is the earth that rotates around the sun, and its position determines which part of the earth will have sunlight at the present time.
And this means that all of the earth does not get to experience sunlight at a particular time.
That is why while some part of it will be night, some will be day; and all at the same time.
Significance of day and night in the creation story.
In the creation story in Genesis, we see how the bible says that after a particular creation, the day and night will pass through and God will always call it one day.
Now from the understanding, we have from today’s word of God, we can come to the understanding that it was not the normal one day that God used in creating the earth.
And from what the scripture helps us to understand in John chapter 1 that it Was through the Word that God created the world, and the Word is Jesus that incarnated as human.
We can draw a conclusion that Jesus was the One Who invented everything that God created, including us humans.
