What Does The Bible Say About Looking At A Woman With Lust

In this frequently asked question (FAQ), we are going to answer the question: what does the bible say about looking at a woman with lust?

But before we go into this FAQ, let us first and foremost outline the bible verse that concerns this issue.

Bible Verse about looking at a woman with lust.

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘you shall not commit adultery’. “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Mathew 5:27-28.

What the bible says about looking at a woman with lust.

So many people always end up confusing themselves about the message our Lord Jesus was trying to pass across to us here.

Some even go to the extent of saying that if someone lust after a woman with her eyes; he should go on to finish committing the sin by sleeping with her.

But what our Lord Jesus was saying about looking at a woman with lust, was meant to guide us against giving way for the sin of adultery; which begins in the human heart.

“For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

Mathew 15:19

So what this means is that once you realize that the lust for a woman is beginning to rise in your heart; you should immediately expel it before it leads you to go and try sleeping with her.

I guess that was why Jesus also said that; we should plug out our eyes instead of allowing them to lead us into sin.

For it is better to enter heaven with one eye than to go to hell fire with both eyes (Mathew 5:29).
