Today is Saturday April 30 2022, and in the word of God for today on this platform will be taken from Luke 22:61-62.

Scriptural text:

He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.

Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none.

Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well.

But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”

Luke 13:6-9.

Our Lord Jesus relates the parable of the fig tree on our today’s word of God.

Fig trees usually bear fruits every single year, but the one in this scripture refused to bear fruit for several years.

And when the owner of the farm realized this, he asked the servant to cut it down.

But instead of cutting it down, the serbant begged the master to gove him some time to water the tree and see if it will bear fruit.

And if that time expires, he will tell him to cut it down.

The fig tree that refuses to bear fruit symbolizes Christians who hear the word of God but refuses to repent.

But a time is given for the word of God to continue to be preached to them.

And if that time expires and they refuse to repent, they will be destroyed.
