In this short sermon, we are going to look at the meaning of crossed over from death to life as we can see in the bible in John 5:24.
Bible verse.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
John 5:24.
What does it mean to cross over from death to life?
To cross over from death to life does not literally mean to die and resurrect but rather it means to escape the judgment of God that leads to condemnation.
Our main bible verse helps us to understand that hearing the Word of God is what will help us to escape the judgment of God.
The next scripture tells us that those who only hear the word of God and fail to practice it are deceiving themselves.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
James 1:22.
The most important point we need to draw out of the word of God for today is that, if we are able to hear and practice the word of God; we will never be judged by God.
The simple understanding here is that God will have no case against us on judgment day.
In other words, it is only those that have a case with Him that is going to appear on the judgment seat.
So let us resolve today to put all we have heard from God into practice and everlasting life will be our portion.
