In 1 Peter 5:8 the scripture portrays the devil as a roaring lion who goes about seeking for those to devour.
And so in this short sermon, we are going to see how that devil seeks to destroy us.
Bible Verse.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
1 Peter 5:8
Since the devil is roaming like a roaring lion seeking to devour us, what manner of people should we be to overcome the temptations he uses to trap us?
The devil will not just see you and begin to devour you; rather he will look for strategies to entrap and find you guilty before he executes his destruction.
And this strategy is what we know as temptation.
In the Lord’s prayer, we ask God to lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil.
As we can see, it is a temptation that precedes evil.
And for that reason, you should guard against temptations in your life every day, if you really want to escape evil.
