Jesus said to him, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself.’
(Mathew 22:37-39).
What do you understand when Jesus said to love God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind?
From our bible verse above which carries the question for this sub-heading, we can come up with the topic: “how to love yourself”.
How to know when people do not love themselves.
Knowing when people do not love themselves is very easy because whoever does the things that might harm, or are going to destroy them, in the end, does not love themselves.
Things people do that prove they do not love themselves.
Below are the things people do to show that they do not love themselves.
- S3xual immorality. In 1 Corinthians 6:18, the scripture warns us to flee from s3xual immorality because every other sin that a man commits is without themselves. But when engaging in s3xual immorality, we commit sin with our own selves. This is because this sin can lead to a girl becoming pregnant and committing murder through abortion, or worst still did in the process.
- In Ephesians 5:18, the scripture says that we should not drink wine because in it is dissipation. From this scripture, we discover that anyone who loves to get drunk will always be influenced by alcohol to do what they are not supposed to. Besides, taking drugs and smoking can affect health and make a person die before their time.
Therefore, the above 2 things that human beings do proves that they do not love themselves.
Conclusion.
Let us endeavor to put away those actions and attitudes that might destroy us because doing it shows that we certainly do not love ourselves.
