In this sermon, I am going to show you how to use the Holy Ghost fire.
But before we see how to use the holy ghost fire, we are going to first and foremost going to see if the holy ghost fire can hurt spiritual beings.
Does holy ghost fire destroy spiritual beings?
This is because so many Christians, especially in Africa; are fond of calling on the Holy Ghost fire to destroy their supposed enemies.
You will find them in prayer bands and tarry nights spending long hours in prayer that seems to invoke the holy ghost fire for destruction.
The saddest part of it is that, these kind of Christians do not even understand who their enemies are.
Some of them think its occultic or wotches and witchcraft powers; but its funny how they don’t have the understanding that these are spiritual beings and at such cannot be harmed or destroyed by fire.
Now who are those that can be destroyed by holy ghost fire?
It is human beings that can be destroyed by holy ghost fire.
But for this to happen, the holy ghost fire must be invoked by a very powerful servant of God as Elijah did in 2 Kings 1:10.
How to use the holy ghost fire.
The holy ghost fire was not given for human beings to be used for destruction.
Let’s see an example from the scripture below:
Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.
But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”
But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.
(Luke 9:51-56).
From the above scripture, we have discovered that Jesus had forbidden us to call on the holy ghost fire for destruction.
We see how the disciples asked Jesus for permission to call fire on the people of Samaria because they did not receive them.
But Jesus rebuked them; and made it clear that His mission on earth was to save men’s lives and not to destroy them.
But how often do we hear our Christians every day everywhere; praying for the Holy Ghost fire to destroy those whom they consider enemies?
According to Mathew 3:11, theholy ghost fire was given for purification and reformation of those who will be converted to Christianity.
How about the destruction of our spiritual enemies?
About our spiritual enemies; the scripture shows us in Revelation 12:11; that we can only overcome them by the blood of the lamb and the word of God.
And in 2 Corinthians 10:4; we see that it is the Lord Jesus that fights for us; because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
