Today is Thursday, September 15, 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of (Ecclesiastes 5:1).
Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.
In 1 Samuel 15:22, the scripture tells us that God is much more concerned with us obeying His words rather than offering sacrifices.
That is to say, obedience is better than sacrifice.
But in today’s world, human beings feel more confident in giving to God rather than obeying His commandments.
But let’s outline 2 scriptural passages that will help us to realize that God does not want what we can give to Him, rather He wants us to obey His words.
With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my first born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has shown you O man what is good; and what does the LORD requires of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.(Micah 6:6-8)
“I hate, I dispise your feast days, and I do not savor your sacred assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings.
Take away from Me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.(Amos 5:21-24)
Pray that God should give you the grace to obey his commandments all the time.
