Our short sermon for today will be taken from the book of 1 Peter 3:12, and it talks about the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous.
Bible Verse.
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
What does it mean that the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous?
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous simple means that God is only concerned about those who are rightoeus.
Most of us have been putting blame on God for not answering our prayers even while we are living in great depths of sin.
Our bible verse in this short sermon helps us to understand that the Lord only listens to the prayers of the righteous.
But so many of us are being deceived by the scripture which says “there is no righteous man on Earth”.
Without considering the fact that the Bible also says that we should not be deceived because he who practices righteousness is righteous.
As a matter of fact, righteousness requires practice, which entails doing those things that are morally right and correct.
Righteousness does not mean going to church, singing in the choir, joining a prayer band, etc.
But it is summed up in the scripture that says that we should owe no one anything than love because love is the fulfillment of the whole commandments.
If you love your neighbor you will not steal from him or sleep with his wife or murder him.
And in so doing, you will be able to obey all the other commandments.
