Today is Monday, 23 of March in the year 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of Romans 15:4.
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
The scripture contains instructions and examples of what transpired in the life of the people of God; ever since the begining of time.
And this things were written down in order to give us the inspiration or motivation; that will help us go ahead in life.
Now let us see how we can get the patience and comfort from the scriptures.
How to get patience and comfort from the scriptures.
As our bible verse for today, Wednesday March 23 says; it is through learning the scriptures that we will be able to get the patience and comfort from the scriptures.
This patience and comfort from the scriptures can come through learning about the lives of those who were faithful to God; and obtained what they wanted from Him.
One of the things that will help us to maintain our patience and comfort in the scripture is hope.
What is hope?
Definition of hope according to the bible.
In biblical context, hope can be defined as the expectations human beings have in the promises of God.
An example is the hope of eternal life that God promised us ever since the beginning of time.
How the dictionary defines hope.
The dictionary defines hope as the expectation and desire for a particular thing we want to happen in the near future.
It can also be seen as a feeling of trust we have in someone or something.
Life is unpredictable, even the scripture shows us that there will be suffering for a while as a Christian. (1 Peter 5:10)
But it goes on to assure us that if we withstand the suffering, which is just a test of our faith in God, that He will restore, confirm, strenghten and establish us.
I pray this word of God be fulfilled in our lives today in Jesus name. Amen.
