Today is Monday, June 6, 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of Mathew 17:1.
Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, brought them up on a high mountain by themselves, and was transfigured before them.Mathew 17:1
Thoughts on our bible verse of the day.
In our bible verse for today, we are going to look at the meaning of transfiguration in the bible.
The transfiguration signifies the passing away; or rather, the replacing of the old testament with the new.
Appearing on the mount of the transfiguration were Moses and Elijah.
Here Moses represents the law while Elijah represents the prophets.
And the reason they came to Jesus was to hand over both the law and the prophets to Him.
Some think or say that Jesus came to destroy the law but let’s see what He has to say about this.
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.Mathew 17:5.
Pray that the Lord Jesus should give you the grace to obey his laws and believe in the prophets He sent to us in this generation.
