Bible Verse Of The Day: July 28, 2022.

bible verse july 28 2022

Today is Thursday, July 27, 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of (1 Peter 2:24)

Bible Verse.

Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-

(1 Peter 2:24)

It’s funny how so many Christians today continue to wallow in sin, and afterward try to find justifications or excuses for their shortcomings.

Sin is sin, and no matter how you try to justify yourself after committing it; there is no way you will be able to escape your conscience when the repercussions come hunting.

Sometimes it is our carefree attitude; or let’s say, over-righteousness, that causes us to fall into the occasions of sin.

Saint Peter, who wrote our inciting passage makes a perfect example of this point.

When our Lord Jesus told him that he was going to deny Him; Peter, who taught he loved Christ that much, argued that he was ready to go anywhere and die with him.

But when the time came, he couldn’t keep to his promises.

The second and most important thing that causes us to sin is the concept of grace.

And this concept lays claim to the fact that; Christ died, to take away all the sins we will ever commit.

And for that reason, we are saved by grace and not through acts of righteousness.

But the same Apostle Paul, whom they claim propounded the concept of grace; said in Romans 6:1 “should we continue in sin that grace may abound”.

And in Titus 2:11-14, the same Paul reveals that; the grace of God appeared to teach us how to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. And in so doing, live soberly, righteously, and godly; as we anticipate the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge all our actions.

Prayer point.

On our daily Bible verse and prayer for today Thursday, July 28, 2022; we are going to pray for the forgiveness of our sins.

Think about those times you have offended God in one way or the other and pray for His mercies.

Father Lord, we acknowledge ourselves as sinners, and we plead for all those times we have transgressed.

And implore your mercy to cover all our wrongdoings for we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
