Bible Verse Of The Day: August 8, 2022.

Bible Verse Of The Day

Today is Monday, August 8, 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of 1 Samuel 8:10.

Bible Verse.

The Lord said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in all that they tell you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not be king over them.

1 Samuel 8:7

When you read verses 4 and 5 of the above scripture, you will realize that the Israelites demanded a king because they saw it in other countries.

And in verses 10 to 8 we see how God reveals how the kings they demanded are going to treat them.

But the people were still remorseful, as seen in verses 19 to 22.

When you study Genesis 1:26-28, you will discover that it was not God’s initial plan for human beings to rule themselves.

Instead, they were supposed to rule over animals.

And God Himself was to rule over human beings in a system of government known as Theocracy.

Which means God ruled people through the prophets.

Thus, Israel’s constant oppression by their kings, wars, and captivity by other nations came because they opted for a system of government known as democracy.

That is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

And it’s very plain to see why the same thing continues down to this our own generation.

Prayer point.

Pray God to give you the grace to survive and live even in the face of the ills we suffer under human rulership.
