Today is Friday, 15 April in the year 2022, and our bible verse of the day will be taken from the book of Acts 15:16.
‘After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up;Acts 15:16.
Why was David’s household marked by ruins?
David’s household was marked by ruins because of the generational curse that was hovering in his lineage.
David himself was the one who started it all; by killing Uriah and taking over his wife, Bathsheba. 2 Samuel 11.
Because of this great evil, God would always visit his son from one generation to another as He promised in Exodus.
And we see how David’s kingdom was divided during the reign of his grandson, Jeroboam.
Afterwards the two kingdoms were captured and destroyed.
Samaria was taken to exile by the king of Assyria (2 Kings 15), while their brother Judah was taken to exile by the king of Babylon (2 Kings 25;21)
Now Judah was the direct descendant of David, after Israel’s revolt.
And Samaria was the other 11 tribes of Israel.
Consequently, Samaria never came back from exile; but Judah did because of the promise of God we see in our opening text.
